Asian Games 2023: India defeated Bangladesh by nine wickets to get to the men’s singles final at Hangzhou’s Pingfeng Campus Cricket Field.

On Friday, October 6, India advanced to the final of the men’s cricket competition at the Asian Games 2023 after defeating Bangladesh by nine wickets in the semi-finals at Hangzhou’s Pingfeng Campus Cricket Field. They will meet the victor of the match between Afghanistan and Pakistan in the final.

Nothing has gone wrong for the Indian squad since they won the toss and chose to bat first. To begin, the Men in Blue limited the Tigers to 96 runs in 20 overs for the loss of nine wickets. To say the least, Sai Kishore was exceptional, finishing with figures of 4-0-12-3. Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Afif Hossain Dhrubo, and Shahadat Hossain Dipu were all dismissed by the left-arm spinner.
Washington Sundar also made life tough for the Bangladesh batters after he got the wickets of Saif Hassan and Zakir Hasan in the last over of the powerplay.

Parvez Hossain Emon scored 23 runs off 32 balls for the Tigers before being dismissed by Tilak Varma. Jaker Ali Anik was not out after 24 balls. Rakibul Hasan’s cameo of 14 off six balls, however, propelled Bangladesh close to the 100-run mark.

After dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal early, Ripon Mondal gave Bangladesh some optimism. Tilak and Ruturaj Gaikwad then pulled the contest away from the Tigers. The pair raced to a fifty partnership off 18 balls, turning the game utterly one-sided. Varma reached his half-century off 25 balls and finished with 55 runs off 26 balls, two fours and six sixes. Gaikwad, on the other side, hit an undefeated 40 off 26 balls, including four fours and three sixes. India beat the objective with 64 balls to spare.
