Sun Breathing (Hinokami Kagura)

This breathing method is unique to the Kamado Family because it is only taught to and practiced by family members. Additionally, it is the original breathing technique, from which all subsequent breathing techniques have descended.

The dance is divided into twelve sections, which are repeated till dawn breaks throughout the night. Tanjuro claims that the usage of a certain breathing method in this dance allows the performer to sustain their movements for an endless amount of time without becoming exhausted, giving the appearance of eternal dancing.
The Sun Breathing and Hinokami Kagura are two Breathing Styles that, through the user’s movements, methods, and powers, mimic the sun and replicate its attributes. The methods and forms used to battle demons are very adaptable and effective due to their great degree of diversity and lack of a set structure.

Use of the Sun Breathing technique in combination with another technique has shown to significantly increase a user’s overall power and speed, as frequently observed with Tanjiro, as it is the source of all other breathing techniques.

Water Breathing:
A breathing technique called “water breathing” uses the user’s movements, techniques, and skills to mimic the rhythm, mobility, and fluidity of water. The majority, if not all, known techniques require someone effortlessly bending their body, arm, and the weapon to resemble rushing or gushing water. Users experience themselves as if they are creating and managing water while employing its strategies.

One of Yoriichi Tsugikuni’s students attempted to acquire Sun Breathing, but as they lacked Yoriichi’s innate aptitude, they were taught and trained in Water Breathing, a specially designed Breathing Style that focused on both their faults and talents.
