Apple Vision Pro

Following the conclusion of its pre-order campaign, Apple’s Vision Pro headset is now officially available. Three storage options are offered: 1TB, 512GB, and 256GB. The 512GB and 1TB variants retail for $3,699 and $3,899, respectively, while the base price is $3,499. Not included in that are the optical inserts for those who require prescription glasses, but more about those a little later.

Purchasing the Vision Pro headset requires more than just selecting the “buy” option. It’s a firsthand encounter. Using your iPhone, measure your head as the first step. You are instructed to spin your phone around your head in order to take precise measurements and find out the size of the head bands and Light Seal using the Face ID ToF scanner on your phone. This is necessary to ensure that the headset fits snuggly and comfortably while being worn.

Making the decision on whether to wear prescription glasses or reading glasses during the day is the second step. Zeiss supplies the optical inserts, which are available in reader and prescription variants. The prescription set will cost an extra $149, while the former requires an additional $99 on top of the regular price.

Arcade games are among the more than 600 apps that Apple claims are currently available for the Vision Pro. As long as they can be played on a Mac via the Virtual Display feature, third-party games that support VR headsets will also work with the system.
