Since its launch in January 2020, Bajaj Auto has sold over 100,000 Chetak electric scooters in India.
The Bajaj Chetak 2024 electric scooter will go on sale today from Bajaj Auto at a starting price of Rs 1,15,001 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). It will compete with devices such as the Ola S1, Hero Vida V1, and TVS iQube.
There are two versions of the 2024 Chetak: Urbane and Premium. The colors of the Chetak Premium include Hazelnut, Indigo Metallic Blue, Brooklyn Black, and Cyber White, while the Coarse Grey, Indigo Metallic Blue, and Brooklyn Black colors are available for the Chetak Urbane. Since being launched in January 2020, Bajaj Auto has sold over 100,000 Chetak electric scooters in India.
Thanks to a larger 3.2kWh battery, the 2024 Chetak is said to offer a higher range of 127km (ARAI certified). Its stated maximum speed is 73 kmph. An 800W inbuilt charger is included with the Chetak Premium device.
Like the original Chetak, the new model sports an all-metal body and all electrical components are IP67 rated water resistant. Additionally, the boot is bigger.
A 5-inch TFT display is a feature of the Chetak Premium. More capabilities like phone management, music control, turn-by-turn navigation, and—most importantly—hill hold mode are available with an extra TecPac. There’s also a reverse mode for the electric scooter.
The Chetak Premium also has self-cancelling blinkers, left and right controls switches, seat switches, an electronic handle and steering lock, sequential rear blinkers, and a helmet box lamp, among other features.
Additionally, Bajaj Auto upgraded the Chetak with a “Green Score” that lets users track their financial savings, fuel efficiency, and reduction in carbon footprint.
