Many people believe that Donquixote Doflamingo, a former celestial dragon who has since fallen, is the best nemesis in One Piece for a number of reasons, including his character, his past, and the brutal tactics he uses to deal with his foes.

Don Quixote Homing divested his family of their nobility and tried to live among the common folk in an effort to atone for his previous deeds. Doflamingo murdered his father because he felt deceived. Later, Doflamingo rose to power and joined the Shichibukai, becoming the king of Dressrosa. He is also known as the Joker by many people in the underworld.

After the SMILE factory was destroyed and Doflamingo used it to lock everyone in the kingdom of Dressrosa and make them play a survival game, Law and Luffy were getting ready to kill Doflamingo because that would be the only way for them to escape the Birdcage. While they were fighting Trebol and Doflamingo, Doflamingo gave Law a choice: if Law conducted the Perennial Youth Operation on him, making him eternal, Doflamingo would grant Law any wish. Following a brief pause, Law mockingly told Doflamingo to resurrect his young brother Corazon and ask for forgiveness in front of everyone in Dressrosa.

Doflamingo shoots Law eight times in various parts of his body while making fun of his prolonged agony and declaring that his quest to defeat him will fail. Around this time, Luffy shattered the ceiling to get to the rooftop where Law and Doflamingo were fighting. Luffy struck Doflamingo as soon as he saw him, but the latter parried both of his attacks. Later, when Luffy discovered a pool of blood that belonged to Law and understood it, he asked what had occurred, but Law was not responding. When Doflamingo admits that he killed Law, Luffy is surprised, and this inspires him to be ready for their duel.

In episode 728, when Luffy ran out of gear fourth and passed out, Doflamingo and Jesus Burgess, who was after Luffy’s devil fruit, both went after him. In episodes 721 through 728, this dispute persisted throughout. When the Sabo and the gladiators halted Doflamingo and Jesus Burgess, he was spared.

Despite the fact that we like Luffy, we are left wondering just how he managed to overcome Doflamingo. To date, Doflamingo has proven to be Luffy’s most difficult challenge. It is important to remember that even though doflamingo doesn’t seem to be all that physically strong, even before he awakened, he managed to deflect a grizzly magnum, a strike with enough destructive power to blow even Pica’s skull apart.

Doflamingo used the birdcage to destroy an entire kingdom, demonstrating that he is capable of being destructive enough to destroy an entire island. In terms of toughness and pure destructive strength, Doflamingo can currently be compared favorably to Luffy; the main distinction is speed. It often seems like Luffy is much faster than Doflamingo in terms of pure speed when he engages gear 4th to fight the latter.

Doflamingo swiftly overcame this edge, though, as his devil fruit came to life and gave him the ability to turn anything into threads. Doflamingo’s strike on Luffy would cause disruptions in his flying patterns, making up for his significant speed deficit.
