Mahindra XUV3XO

With a panoramic sunroof, the new Mahindra XUV3XO is the first SUV in its class.

On April 29, Mahindra & Mahindra is scheduled to present the new Mahindra XUV3XO, which is essentially a facelift for the Mahindra XUV300, in India. The sub-4 meter little SUV will be outfitted with all the modern amenities that one would expect a car in its class to have in its new design.

The Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Brezza, among others, are market leaders in the highly competitive sub-4 meter small SUV class. Then there are additional competitors, such as the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Maruti Suzuki Fronx. These are some of the best-selling models in the business.

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, the Hyundai Venue, the Kia Sonet, and the Tata Nexon all reported wholesale sales of 169,897, 124,307, and 134,735 units in FY24. During the fiscal year, Mahindra XUV300 sales were over 54,000 units. Mahindra has crammed the new XUV3XO with a ton of features in the face of fierce competition, as the company’s most recent teaser video demonstrates. The upgraded variant has LED-connected taillamp units and vertically stacked headlamp units with DRLs. New 16-inch alloys are also available.

But the main alteration is found inside the cabin. While the Mahindra XUV300 had a rather antiquated appearance, the Mahindra XUV3XO has major changes, including a new dashboard and a reworked center console. The automated climate control unit and touchscreen infotainment system are new. The steering wheel appears brand new. The front seats of the car are also ventilated. Mahindra has even equipped the XUV3XO with a panoramic sunroof, making it the first model in its class to do so. The standard feature of the other sub-4 meter compact SUVs is an electronic sunroof.

In the Global NCAP crash tests, the Mahindra XUV300 fared well, earning four stars for child occupant safety and a perfect five stars for adult occupant protection. With features like electronic stability control, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and all four disc brakes, among others, we anticipate the new Mahindra XUV3XO to meet strict safety criteria.

In terms of drivetrains, the Mahindra XUV3XO is anticipated to take cues from the Mahindra XUV300, which comes with three engine options: a 1.5-liter diesel (117PS/300Nm), a 1.2-liter Stallon turbocharged intercooled gasoline direct injection (TGDi) gasoline (130PS/230Nm), and a 1.2-liter turbocharged multipoint fuel injection (TCMPFI) gasoline (110PS/200Nm). The 6-speed MT and 6-speed AMT transmissions are the two available options. The TGDi only receives a 6-speed MT, whereas the TCMPFI and the diesel engines have 6-speed MT and 6-speed AMT options.

It is anticipated that the ex-showroom price of the new Mahindra XUV3XO in India will range from Rs 8.50 lakh to Rs 15.50 lakh. The Mahindra XUV300 is priced between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 14.75 lakh (ex-showroom), for comparison.
