This would be the automaker’s fourth JIM in India. Maruti stated that JIM, Kansala will train over 200 people per year. Five specialized automotive trade courses will be offered by the institute.

Haryana’s government has granted the JIM with land and a structure in Kansala. Maruti will provide the necessary equipment, training modules, and teachers, as well as manage the institute for the next 15 years.

Maruti Suzuki will provide equipment, training modules, and trained teachers, as well as manage the institute for the next 15 years, according to the company. The Japan-India Institute for Manufacturing (JIM) was founded as a result of a collaboration between the governments of Japan and India to develop a skilled workforce for manufacturing in India. It is the result of a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) signed in 2016 between the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) and the Indian Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) for a 10-year “Manufacturing Skill Transfer Promotion Programme” that will train 30,000 youths in India.

India’s passenger vehicle industry is now the world’s third largest and is rapidly expanding.” It is our obligation to prepare human capacity to match production capability in order to meet this expansion. Training our young in industry-ready skills will assist us in realizing our vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat. We are pleased to collaborate with the Haryana government and share a same vision of training and skilling the youth so that they may contribute to Haryana’s progress. We’ve been running JIMs since 2017 and the equipment used to train students at the JIM is essentially identical to that used in a modern manufacturing firm. Along with the core curriculum specified by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), there is a focus on safety, quality, discipline, timeliness, Kaizen, and other Japanese shop floor principles,” said Rahul Bharti, ED, Maruti Suzuki Automobiles India.

Located about 16 kms from the upcoming automobile hub Kharkhoda, JIM Kansala will offer extensive career opportunities to the students trained at the ITI, he added.
