The Qualcomm chipset is not new to the OnePlus family, but it is a step up over the Ace 2. It boosts CPU and GPU performance while cutting power consumption, and it’s paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, which are neatly bundled in three variations.

The Ace 2 Pro’s vapor chamber now has dual-circulation heat dissipation, bringing the total area to 9,140 sq. mm. This contains many layers of graphite and thermal gel, both of which are superconductive materials that allow heat to dissipate quickly without overheating the device’s internals.

Although OnePlus does not market the phone as a gaming headset, there has been much discussion about how well it performs in mobile games. The entire gadget is encased in metal to function as antennae, which is nothing new, but the Ace 2 Pro has at least 15 separate antenna parts, and there are some software improvements in Wi-Fi stability as well. Furthermore, at least 100 titles support a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

The Ace 2 Pro sports a 50 MP main camera with PDAF and OIS, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2 MP macro shooter on the rear. On the front, there’s nothing special either: a 16 MP Samsung sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.

Instead, OnePlus decided to go heavy on charging. Although 150W is not a new addition to the company’s portfolio (the Ace Pro supported the same rates), it is nevertheless amazing in a world where flagships are launching with dual-digit standards. The proprietary SuperVOOC charger is supposed to take 17 minutes to charge from 0 to 100%, and the phone can also be charged at 45W with any PD adaptor.

The Ace 2 Pro contains a SuperVOOC S power management chip that manages the screen, charging speeds, and temperature, as well as a “long-term charging protection” warranty. The phone’s operating system is Color OS 3.1 on top of Android 13.

It comes in two colors: Aurora Green and Titanium Gray. Prices start at CNY2,999 ($410/€375), however this is only for the 12/256 GB model. The 16/512 GB model costs CNY3,399 ($465/€425), while Genshin Impact aficionados may add a Paimon-branded adapter and case for an additional CNY200 for a Limited Edition box set. The powerful 24 GB RAM version with 1 TB storage costs CNY3,999 ($550/€500).

The first sale is set for next Wednesday, August 23, but the limited edition will be available seven days later. The debut is limited to China, and given how the initial Ace Pro relaunched as the OnePlus 10T, we can only hope that this gadget will be released globally as the OnePlus 11T shortly.
