OnePlus Buds 3

On January 4, OnePlus will launch the Buds 3 alongside the Ace 3 smartphone. The TWS earphones’ design leaked earlier this year, and we can now confirm that the leak was correct – the Buds 3 will look very similar to the Buds Pro 2.

Because of the dual drivers, the new audio wearables claim to provide flagship-tier audio quality. OnePlus even posted a graph claiming that the Buds 3 will outperform an unnamed competitor in five key areas.

The dual-design solution has previously been available in the Buds Pro lineup, and it is now available in the non-Pro as well. It will also have next-generation noise cancellation to improve audio and call quality. At the same time, neither the buds nor the case appear to be revolutionary in terms of design.

The OnePlus Buds 3 will receive nearly perfect ratings across the board, including 4.7 for bass, 4.8 for clarity, timbre, and vocals, and 4.6 for spatial sound. This averages 4.74 out of 5, but keep in mind that these tests were conducted in the OnePlus Labs, and rates mean nothing without context.

The company has already opened reservations, which basically sends everyone a notification when the product becomes available on Wednesday, when people can pre-order the OnePlus Buds 3.

Highlight features of OnePlus Buds 3

  • Design: Leaks suggest a design similar to the OnePlus Buds Pro 2, with in-ear buds and a charging case.
  • Audio: They could have 10.4mm woofers and 6mm tweeters for balanced sound, along with 48dB of active noise cancellation (ANC) to block out ambient noise.
  • Battery life: The earbuds themselves might have a 58mAh battery each, while the case could have a 520mAh battery. This could potentially provide up to 7 hours of listening time on a single charge, with the case extending that to 30 hours.
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth v5.3, Google Fast Pair, and dual connection support are all rumored to be included.
  • Other features: IP55 dust and water resistance could be on board, along with touch controls for music playback and volume.

It’s important to keep in mind that these are just leaks and rumors, so the final features of the OnePlus Buds 3 could be different.
