We learned a few days ago that the Red Magic smartphone sub-brand of Nubia would release a Bumblebee version of the Red Magic 9 Pro+ today, and that’s exactly what happened.
All the focus is on yellow. as well as Transformers’ Bumblebee. There’s a lot of theming everywhere, including, naturally, the back of the phone. It stands out that the paint job is black and yellow, as it should for a limited edition release.
For good measure, there’s also a texture finish resembling carbon fiber, and naturally, a Bumblebee logo to match the Red Magic one. You receive completely personalized packaging featuring Bumblebee’s codenames. Together with a themed SIM tray ejector tool, a 165W GaN charger, a black and yellow USB-C cable, a Bumblebee badge, and a unique magnetic case, the package also includes a black and yellow magnetic cooler. The software also has a strong Bumblebee theme, as one might expect.
The special edition is priced at CNY 6,499, which is currently equivalent to about $900 or €833. You get 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage for that price, which is the same specs as the Red Magic 9 Pro+. It’s unlikely that this will be formally offered for sale outside of China.
