Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun claims that the Xiaomi SU7 is not just designed for competition; rather, it confidently competes with the aesthetics and performance of renowned electric vehicles such as the Tesla Model S. The electric vehicle’s production has already begun, with all Xiaomi vehicles produced in Beijing at a facility owned by the Chinese automaker BAIC Group.

The Xiaomi SU7 has a sporty appearance that is reminiscent of the Porsche Taycan. The SU7 is shown in photos provided by the maker of electric vehicles as an opulent sports car with features similar to those of the well-known German company. Its attractive alloy wheels and exterior paint scheme of Aqua Blue complete the package.

The Xiaomi SU7 is a four-door electric sedan that measures 1,963 mm in width, 4,997 mm in length, and up to 1,455 mm in height. Its wheelbase measures 3,000 millimeters. Xiaomi plans to offer the SU7 in two versions, which will differ by the amount of energy storage that the battery can hold.
Furthermore, the range will include different versions based on their power specifications.

In terms of power, the Xiaomi SU7’s base model will have a 73.6 kWh battery pack, while the premium variant will have a larger 101 kWh battery pack. Xiaomi has developed its own CTB (Cell-to-Body) technology, which integrates the battery into the vehicle seamlessly. This technological advancement improves structural rigidity, eliminates the traditional floor, and reduces height, resulting in a more spacious cabin.

The electric car company predicts that the SU7 will have a range of up to 800 kilometers on a single charge. Furthermore, Xiaomi intends to launch a new model, the V8, in 2025, with a larger 150 kWh battery pack and a 1,200-kilometer range.

Surprisingly, the Xiaomi SU7 electric sedan is expected to match the performance levels of some of the world’s fastest electric vehicles.

Xiaomi promises the EV will reach a minimum of 21,000 revolutions per minute (RPM), placing it in the upper echelon in its category. The two most popular models are the V6 and V6S motors, which have power ratings ranging from 299 to 374 horsepower. 635 Nm of torque is the maximum value. Lower-end SU7 models are expected to attain 210 kmph, while higher-end variants are expected to reach 265 kmph.

As evidenced at the most recent presentation, Xiaomi plans to offer capabilities for autonomous driving, like self-parking. The EV maker demonstrated its self-driving technology, which includes high-resolution cameras, Lidar, ultrasonic sensors, and radar. According to Lei, Xiaomi vehicles’ autonomous driving capabilities will set the industry standard for innovation.
