Google launches new Mint color

Google revealed a new color scheme for the Pixel 8 Pro last week; the device was scheduled to go on sale on January 25. While we’ve been watching it in leaked press photos, it’s now official.

Thus, the only places in the US where you can buy a Google Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro in the new shade Mint are the Google online store and Google Fi. Jenny Davis, Google’s CMF design manager, describes it as “a cool spring breeze and a breath of fresh air.” It’s calm but not monotonous. It’s a brilliant hue that genuinely beckons mental tranquility—vigorated tranquility.”

For the Pixel 8 it joins Rose, Obsidian, and Hazel; for the Pixel 8 Pro, it joins Porcelain, Obsidian, and Bay. The specifications are exactly the same as what we’ve known about the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro since their launch in October of last year, as you might expect. The color, which was unveiled in association with street artist Ricardo Gonzalez, aka @itsaliving, is the only new aspect.

As you can see in the video above, he painted the new Mint color over an existing Google Pixel billboard in New York City as a unique way to introduce the new shade, Google is offering a complimentary case in a complementary hue to anyone who purchases a Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro in mint.
