S Sreesanth accuses Gautam Gambhir of calling him fixer

The Legends League Cricket (LLC) will investigate the incident involving former India teammates Gautam Gambhir and S Sreesanth.

The Legends League Cricket (LLC) will conduct a ‘internal inquiry’ after S Sreesanth claimed on Thursday that ex-India teammate Gautam Gambhir called him a ‘fixer’ during a match and that any evidence of wrongdoing found against the latter will be ‘dealt with rigorously’.

During an Eliminator match between LLC clubs Indian Capitals and Gujarat Giants, the two World Cup-winning players got into a heated argument. The umpires were forced to step in and separate the two players.

He kept on calling me ‘fixer fixer, you are a fixer, **** off you fixer’ on live television on centre wicket,” Sreesanth said while going live from his Instagram handle. “I just said ‘what are you saying’, I kept laughing in a sarcastic way. He spoke to the umpires in the same language when they tried to control him,” he said

Sreesanth was one of three Rajasthan Royals players banned for their alleged involvement in a spot-fixing incident during the 2013 IPL. In 2019, the Supreme Court overturned his decision, prompting the BCCI to reduce Sreesanth’s ban to seven years, which will end in September 2020.

Legends League Cricket strives to uphold the spirit of cricket and sportsmanship and will conduct an internal investigation on the violation of the code of conduct. Any misconduct that has occurred both on and off the field, including on social media platforms, will be dealt with strictly,” Kirmani said in a statement

The code of conduct has clearly stated that necessary action will be taken against players that bring disrepute to the league, the spirit of the game and the teams that they are representing. We make our stand very clear and continue to work towards sharing the game with millions of cricketing lovers across the nation and world,” the former India wicket-keeping great added

Sreesanth, for one, claimed he didn’t say anything harsh and was perplexed as to what prompted Gambhir’s reported outburst. “I didn’t say anything negative.” Please, gentlemen, support the truth. He’s done it with a lot of people. I’m not sure why he started it, but it was the end of the over.
