South Africa bowler Tabraiz Shamsi praised the Chennai audience during their final wicket thriller against Pakistan on Friday, October 27. In what turned out to be the first thriller of the ODI World Cup, South Africa won and climbed to the top of the table, while Pakistan was left reeling in sixth place.

The MA Chidambaram Stadium fans screamed their lungs out for both teams, who put in some great stretches of play during the competition. Shami resorted to Twitter to express himself, writing that it was a memorable first time in Chennai for him.

This is my first time in Chennai, and what a game to be a part of!” The crowd was wonderful, equally supporting both teams and admiring the work of both teams’ players. “Many thanks,” Shamsi wrote.
