India vs Australia T20I series

Suryakumar Yadav has been selected captain of the Indian team for the upcoming T20I series against Australia, which begins on November 23. Shreyas Iyer will join the team after the third match of the series and take over as vice-captain.

India has picked a 15-man roster for their upcoming T20I series against Australia. Suryakumar Yadav has been selected captain of the five-match series, which begins on November 23 in Vizag.

Hardik Pandya, who has recently captained the Indian T20I team, is still healing from an injury received during the World Cup 2023 campaign, which has allowed the Mumbai batter to assume the captaincy.

Suryakumar will be captaining an Indian team for the first time. During the IPL 2023 season, the ICC No. 1 T20I hitter took the captaincy.

India has also called up young left-hander Rinku Singh, who made his international debut earlier this year on a tour of Ireland. Tilak Varma and Yashavsi Jaiswal have also rejoined the Indian squad.

Shreyas Iyer, who was a member of India’s World Cup 2023 roster, will join the squad after the third T20I and act as the team’s vice-captain for the remaining matches. Ruturaj Gaikwad will fill in for Suryakumar in the first two T20Is.

The series will kick off India’s preparations for the T20 World Cup, which will be held in the West Indies and the United States of America (USA) next year.

The first Twenty20 International between India and Australia will be played on Thursday, November 23 at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. The remaining four matches will be held at Thiruvananthapuram, Guwahati, Nagpur, and Hyderabad on November 26, 28, December 1, and 3, respectively.

India’s squad: Suryakumar Yadav (Captain), Ruturaj Gaikwad (vice-captain), Ishan Kishan, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Shivam Dubey, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Avesh Khan, Mukesh Kumar, Shreyas Iyer (to join the side for the last two T20Is).
